President Tinubu Deserves Commendation For His Courageous Decision On Food Security — Gbolagbade.

In an interview with Channels Television, Ayoola Gbolagbade, a Professor of Agricultural Economics And Policy, expressed appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency on food security.

According to Channel Television, Gbolagbade commended Tinubu for being the first president to acknowledge the severity of the food crisis and escalate its status. However, he noted that there was a gap in the declaration as no reference was made to the recently passed Right to Food Act, which is now a law.

Gbolagbade emphasized the importance of targeting the instrumentality of the war against hunger and highlighted the need for Nigeria to follow the successful example of other countries in addressing food security.

Rephrasing his words, “President Tinubu deserves commendation for his courageous decision. The situation in Nigeria has been in crisis for a long time, and he is the first president to acknowledge and address it as an emergency.

This is a necessary step, and we appreciate his efforts. Moreover, he has properly recognized the importance of food security by elevating it to the level of national security, which is currently being discussed by the National Security Council.”
