Politicians flooding Govt House distracting me – A'Ibom gov

Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, has expressed worry about political intrusions inside the Government House during working hours.

In a video on Facebook when he was addressing a congregation, Governor Eno airing his complaints.

Eno pleaded with elected officials to let him focus on the task at hand.

The governor said that too many unexpected visits from state politicians were keeping him from his duties.

I won’t visit anyone’s office without an appointment, he declared. It amuses me that folks would just leave their house and appear up, then call you to say they were turned away at the Government House gate.

Only on Fridays and Thursdays will I be visited. I humbly ask that you please refrain from visiting me during Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so that I have time to carry out the duties that you have chosen me to perform. If you did, no one would ever inquire as to how many visitors I had over the course of four years.

“Allow us to hold the meeting we can hold, treat some files – you know, we are almost treating files late, and I have tried to manage it for some time, but people would get angry,” he remarked.
