Police Recover Arms, Ammunition As Two Suspects Flee In Delta

Arms have been recovered by security operatives from suspects in Delta State.

The police operatives attached to the Ebrumese Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on routine stop-and-search duty along DSC Express Road recovered one pump-action gun, one locally made long gun, three locally made cut-to-size guns, and 18 rounds of live cartridges from two fleeing suspects.

It was learnt that the police stopped a tricycle with Reg. No. Delta EFR 175 VK conveying two occupants heading towards a police checking point.

Surprisingly, the two occupants of the tricycle jumped out and escaped from the scene abandoning the tricycle.

It was during a search that the Police recovered the arms and ammunition in the tricycle.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

According to him: “Upon search of the tricycle, one pump-action gun, one locally made long gun, three locally made cut-to-size guns, and 18 rounds of live cartridges were recovered. Effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects.”
