Tinubu meets with Wike, el-Rufai in Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with former governors of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Vanguard report that, The two former governors are ministerial nominees.

However, while Wike was screened and confirmed by the Senate, the nation’s upper legislative chamber did not confirm el-Rufai because of an alleged security report.

The former governors arrived the State House separately.

Vanguard report that, El-Rufai arrived to Aso Rock about 2 p.m., while Wike arrived at around 1:40 p.m.

According to sources in the Presidential Villa, efforts are being taken to ensure that Mallam el-Rufai receives the Senate’s approval.

You will recall that, The announcement of the confirmation comes more than a week after Tinubu sent a 28-member list to the red chamber for approval on July 27.

Channels TV report that, Former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike, Abubakar Kyari of Borno State, Nkiruka Onyejeocha of Abia State, Bello Muhammad of Sokoto State, Sani Abubakar Danladi of Taraba State, and Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State were all screened by the Senate on Monday.

Other states’ representatives are Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (Bauchi State), Olubunmi Tunji Ojo (Ondo State), Betta Edu (Cross River State), Uju Kennedy Ohaneye (Anambra State), Abubakar Momoh (Edo State), John Enoh (Cross River State), and Iman Suleiman Ibrahim (Benue State).
