Police, hunters kill three kidnappers, rescue four victims and recover two AK-47 rifles in Adamawa
Adamawa State Police Command officers, working with local hunters, killed three suspected kidnappers in a gunfight and rescued four victims.
DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Command’s spokesman, said in a statement on Sunday, July 31, that two AK-47 rifles, one pumb action, handsets, chains, padlocks, charms, and other items were recovered during the operation.

“The operation conducted by Command operatives attached to Sorau Division and the Hunters at Damare Hill, a grazing reserve located on a remote side of Sorau District, Holma Village in Maiha and Song local government areas, and the border of Cameroon Republic, yielded positive results.”
“These successes are the result of the command’s follow-up strategy to checkmate cases involving kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, and unlawful possession of firearms, among other things.”
“When the suspected kidnappers saw our men, they engaged them in a gun duel, and three of them were neutralized, while others escaped with bullet wounds,” the statement continued.
Four kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed: Hafsatu Musa, 50, Idirisa Hammadu, 20, Abdul Adamu, 20, and Musa Hammadu 22, all residents of Holma/Maiha in Song and Maiha local government.
While commending Dpo Sorou, his men, and members of the Hunters for disconnecting the criminal network and displaying gallantry, the Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, directed other DPOs to do the same as a strategy for combating crimes and criminals in their areas of responsibility.
The CP also urges the public to always inform the police of criminals’ whereabouts and hiding places, particularly those on the run with bullet wounds.
The police chief also assured the government and people of Adamawa state of the command’s ongoing efforts to root out all criminal, hideous, and black sports in the state.
