Peter Obi will soon be declared president- Julius Abure tells Nigerians in US

Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has expressed strong confidence that the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will soon become the President of Nigeria, as reported by VANGUARD newspaper. Abure made this assertion during his visit to the United States, where he addressed a group of Nigerians.

Peter Obi, who secured the third position in the February presidential election, has contested the election results along with the Labour Party. Their challenge aims to invalidate the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

Abure who is currently on a tour of the United Kingdom and the US, indicated that a verdict from the presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) is expected to be delivered by September 16. Emphasizing Peter Obi’s pivotal role in the 2023 general election, Abure noted, “With Peter Obi’s involvement in the 2023 general election, we transformed the political landscape in Nigeria, giving the established parties a competitive challenge.” He further asserted, “Those who have disrupted the peace will find no rest. They have taken what is not rightfully theirs, and their conscience will be unsettled until justice prevails.”
