PEPT: Wike Applauds Tribunal Judges, Says Judgment Was Well-Researched

As the judgment delivered by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal continues to grab headlines across the country, former Rivers State Governor, and newly appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has applauded the five-man panel of Appeal Court Justices for a job well done.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’ program with Seun Akinbaloye on Friday, Wike expressed pleasure at the judgment delivered by the Justice Haruna Tsammani-led tribunal, describing the details of the ruling was well researched.

Going further, the former Rivers Governor insisted that he was impressed with the decision taken by the judges to ensure that the court session was televised for all Nigerians to watch.

He said; “For me, if my confidence in the judiciary was at fifty percent before, I can now rate them between seventy to eighty percent. What I saw yesterday, I did not believe it. I saw the tenacity of the judges. I must say it was a job well done. It was well researched.

For me, the boldness they displayed in asking Nigerians to watch what they have done. They told the whole world that it (judgment) would be televised live for Nigerians to hear with their own ears.”
