PEPT: Kaduna CAN's Chairman Urges Nigerians to Respect Tribunal's Judgement

Rev. John Hayab, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State has called on Nigerians to respect the nation’s judiciary and unite for the progress of the country.

As reported by Punch papers, Hayab made the plea while speaking in an interview after Judgement of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja held on Wednesday, 6th September 2023.

According to him, no Nigerian should allow his/herself to be used as an instrument to divide the nation based on political difference but unit and work with the person the court has ruled in his favour to lead the affairs of the land that will make development thrive in Nigeria.

Hayab said, “We should, as Nigerians, respect the judicial system for the interest of peace and harmonious coexistence of the country.”

Speaking further, he called on Nigerians to avoid activities that could lead to troubles which may destabilise the growth in the nation. He equally advised politicians to honour the judgement of the tribunal even if it didn’t go the way they expected.

He said, “Politicians come and go but the country remains. Therefore, we must think inward and not allow some selfish individuals to put the country into confusion that could lead to chaos and result in the loss of lives and property, and which could set the country backwards, instead of consolidating Nigeria’s progress.”
