According to a statement made by Dele Momodu, a prominent figure in the PDP, it is believed that the upcoming tribunal judgment may result in a rerun election involving just two candidates. Momodu suggested that the judges will need to determine whether this rerun will feature Peter Obi and Bola Ahmed Tinubu or Atiku Abubakar and Tinubu. Additionally, he expressed his opinion that the ruling party would face a tough challenge from the PDP in a two-candidate election.
During an interview with Channels TV, Momodu stated, “It is likely that a rerun election will take place with only two candidates. I am uncertain whether those candidates will be Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar. If Atiku is among the two, I believe that many people would prefer him. In the previous election, it’s evident that demographic factors, such as ethnicity and region, played a crucial role. The APC didn’t perform well in the South-South, South-East, and only managed a competitive showing in the South-West.”
