Evans The Kidnapper Sentenced to 21 Years Imprisonment After He Was Found Guilty

An Ikeja Special Offences Court sitting in Lagos, on Monday sentenced kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans, to 21 years imprisonment. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo convicted Evans and his co-defendant, Victor Aduba, for kidnapping one Sylvanus Hafia. Evans and Aduba were accused of conspiring and kidnapping Hafia on 23rd June, 2014 at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin local government area of Lagos. They were alleged to have detained Hafia and demanded a $2 million ($2,000,000) ransom. But the defendants pleaded not guilty to the four charges. This is the second sentence against the kidnap kingpin. Justice Hakeem Oshodi had earlier convicted him and two others to life imprisonment for conspiracy and the kidnap of the Managing Director of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Limited, Donatus Dunu.
