PDP Crisis: Wike Calls for Suspension of Atiku, Tambuwal, Lamido

The former Rivers State governor and current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister has urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to suspend Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential aspirant.

According to the Daily Post, the PDP stalwart made this advocation during an interview on Channels Television. He asserted that he and the G5 members should be commended for championing the right decisions within the party.

He expressed, “I implore the party’s National Working Committee to promptly suspend the party’s presidential candidates, Aminu Tambuwal and Sule Lamido.”

When questioned about why he believes he shouldn’t face suspension, he added, “They are aware I haven’t committed any wrongdoing. They should applaud us for our commitment to fairness, equity, and justice.”

In response to a query about whether he was opposing the party’s wishes, he questioned, “Isn’t the party working against the interests of Nigerians? Who holds supremacy? Is the party superior to the people?”

He emphasized the existence of a constitution but accused the party of disregarding it due to its perceived power. He asserted, “They believe they can act without accountability, which they acknowledge is unfeasible. Success isn’t attainable through such means,” he concluded.
