Tribunal Judgement:Tinubu Isn't worried because he knows he won the presidential election–Presidency

According to a report by Sahara Reporters paper, the presidency has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not anxious about the upcoming judgment to be delivered by the Presidential Election Petition Court, and consequently, he is not making any threats toward the judicial officers.

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, spoke on Channels Television on Monday, that: “He (Tinubu) is not worried simply because he knows he won the election.”

Ngelale emphasized that there is no reason to intimidate judicial officers, as the President trusts in the impartiality and integrity of the Nigerian judicial system. He expects the judges to base their decisions solely on the merits of the case.

Ngelale further clarified that President Tinubu is committed to upholding the respect for institutions, regardless of the judgment’s outcome. This commitment extends to all stakeholders involved.

It’s worth noting that the Tribunal’s judgment will be delivered while President Tinubu is away in New Delhi, India, for the G-20 Leaders’ Summit. Additionally, the Registrar of the Court of Appeal, Umar Bangari, announced that the Tribunal will publicly broadcast its judgments on the cases challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, election.

These challengers include Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). Atiku, a former Vice President, secured the second position in the closely contested poll, while Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, came in third.
