Lamidi Apapa Reacts After Obi Lost At The Tribunal, Says His Legal Team Did No Advise Him Properly

Following yesterday’s decision by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, a faction of the Labour Party under the leadership of Lamidi Apapa reacted.

Recall that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, won the presidency of the nation over other formidable candidates, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP. This is according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Earlier today, the court dismissed the petitions filed by the Labour Party’s Peter Obi and the People’s Democratic Party’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who had disputed Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.

In a statement released by the factional National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, Lamidi Apapa was quoted as saying, “It is a shame that the legal team of Mr. Peter Obi failed to properly advise him before going to the tribunal.” This was according to The Daily Post paper.

He added; “Some of us have been claiming that Peter Obi made the decision to appear before the tribunal in order to defend the money he amassed for the campaign, all of which was stolen through corruption.”
