Pastor Chris Oyakhilome cites a Bible text in favour of divorce

Chris Oyakhilome, the President of LoveWorld Inc. and Christ Embassy, is a highly respected minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. With his Spirit-filled and anointed leadership, he leads a dynamic, multifaceted, and global ministry.

When asked whether a Christian can date a non-believer, Pastor Chris responded with a clear “no,” providing several reasons for his stance. He referred to 1 Corinthians 7:10, which emphasizes the importance of not separating from one’s spouse…….Continue Reading

The scripture states that if a wife chooses to leave her husband, she must remain unmarried or reconcile with him. Likewise, a husband must not abandon his wife. Based on this, Pastor Chris emphasized that God does not desire divorce.Furthermore, Pastor Chris delved into 1 Corinthians 7:12, where the Apostle Paul addresses believers who are married to non-believers.

Paul states that if a brother has a wife who does not believe, but she is content to dwell with him, he should not put her away.

Pastor Chris explained that Paul made this statement because the Lord had not explicitly addressed this matter during His earthly ministry.

Paul’s words indicate that the complete fulfillment of the Gospel had not yet occurred.

Pastor Chris also highlighted a significant point from verse 14 of the same chapter. He explained that when one spouse becomes a Christian after marriage, the unbelieving partner and their children are sanctified through the believing spouse.

This sanctification reveals that God has played a crucial role in the lives of the children, as they are no longer considered children of the devil but are now holy.
