Oyo NLC Inducts Gov Makinde as Labour Comrade, Apologizes For Disrupting Activities of Civil Servant

Earlier today, the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Oyo state led its members to apologize to Governor Seyi Makinde for the unruly conduct of its members during the week long protest in the state.

The NLC Chairman for Oyo state, Mr Kayode Martins, on behalf of other leaders of the union apologized to the Governor for anything they might have done wrong during the protest. This was by disclosed on the “Official PDP Nigerian” Twitter handle.

Recall that the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, and the Trade Union Congress in the state of Oyo went on a week-long strike to demand the payment of leave bonuses and a reassessment of pension allowances. 

In his remarks to the workers, Governor Makinde reassured the union that their requests would be considered and promised to hold quarterly meetings with union officials to discuss other union requirements.

The NLC leaders in Oyo State admitted Governor Makinde as a “Labour Comrade” at the conclusion of the conference and complimented him for being an excellent leader and a responsive governor.
