Oyetola Warns Osun APC members to avoid Aregbesola's Caucus

Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Maritime and Blue Economy, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State to distance themselves from the caucus led by former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

According to the Vanguard, Aregbesola recently defied the Omoluabi Progressives caucus, stating that the political party resulted from the merger of various factions.

However, Oyetola, addressing party supporters at the Tinubu-Shettima campaign office in Osogbo, cautioned them to disregard this group for the greater good of the party.

Speaking in Yoruba, he expressed his willingness to reconcile but insisted that those involved in anti-party activities must reflect on their actions. He endorsed the State Working Committee’s expulsion and suspension of errant members, deeming it a positive move.

“I am advising you not to participate in any caucus gatherings. The only legitimate meetings you should attend are APC gatherings in your respective wards. There are no factions within the state APC.

Don’t be swayed by those managing caucuses; they may betray you. I support the disciplinary measures against party members who undermined our efforts during the previous elections.

We spent three years working towards reconciliation, but they obstructed our progress. I stand by the party’s decision. Nevertheless, I am open to genuine reconciliation. If they display remorse and contrition, we can engage in dialogue,” he emphasized.

The former governor urged party loyalists to actively participate in party meetings and events, expressing confidence that the party would regain power by 2026.
