Obi Will Soon Be Declared Nigeria’s President, Abure Tells Nigerians in the US

The Vanguard newspaper reports that the embattled National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has to Nigerians in the US that the party’s candidate in the February 25 presidential election, Peter Obi, will soon be declared the President of Nigeria by the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT).

Abure is currently on a tour of the US and the United Kingdom.

He said:

“Following Peter Obi’s participation in the 2023 general election, we changed the political narratives in Nigeria. We gave them a run for their money.

“They have murdered sleep and they will sleep no more. They have stolen what is not for them and they will not sleep until we recover it all.”

Obi, who came third in the election, and his party, are challenging the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the PEPT.

They are asking the tribunal to nullify the result of the election.

Abure said the PEPT, which is set to pass judgment on the matter on September 16, will declare Obi the president of the country.
