A reporter at Leadership paper, Simon Reef Musa, has insinuated that the Supreme Court might not overturn the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in the petitions against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; as he insisted that the democratic system in Nigeria has been compromised.
Simon Reef Musa had said, “The truth of the matter is, our democratic system has so much been compromised by a cabal.”

Reef Musa, who spoke during an interview on Kakaaki, an AIT Television programme, failed to mention the cabal that has compromised Nigeria’s democratic system, but insisted that the system has been designed to favour those who rigged their ways into power. According to him, whoever has taken steps to rig elections at the polls would not sit back to let the Tribunal oust them. He said this in reaction to the decision of the Election Tribunal to uphold the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.
Simon Reef Musa expressed disappointment that the Judiciary would have to decide who wins an election in Nigeria. According to him, the results of elections are supposed to have been determined at the polls and not in the chambers of judges. He also expressed hope that the decision of the Tribunal would be challenged at the Supreme Court, but hinted that there might not be any change.
