Coup: This is a time for public diplomacy It's not a matter that we live to governments – Alh. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the 14th Emir of Kano, engaged in discussions with the leaders of the coup in Niamey, the capital of the country. This meeting took place while Niger’s former rebel leader initiated an anti-coup movement, marking the initial instance of internal opposition within the nation.

Speaking to the Arise TV reporter at the Aso Rock as he heads to brief the President on the outcome of his meeting with the Military juntas, he urged every Nigerian, Nigeriens, to get involved in resolving the ongoing crisis in Niger, as it isn’t a matter, we leave for the government to handle and also requires public diplomacy to restore democracy in the Niger Republic.

Sanusi said, “Yes, I came to brief him on the details. Interventions are ongoing and will continue to do our best to bring the two parties together to improve understanding.”

“This is a time for public diplomacy it’s not a matter that we live to governments, all Nigerians all, Nigeriens need to be involved to find a solution that works for Africa, a solution that works for Niger, that works for Nigeria and a solution that works for Humanity.”
