Osita Chidoka Urges INEC Transparency to Restore Confidence in Electoral System.

Former Minister of Ation, Osita Chidoka, believes that the judgment of the Appeal Court judges in the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal will not restore Nigerians’ confidence in the electoral system.

He insists that the Bola Tinubu administration needs to address the concerns about the transparency and fairness of the February 25 presidential election by compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide a clear explanation of what happened.

Chidoka states that the national consensus on the election can only be achieved if INEC clarifies whether the process was fair and if the chosen candidate truly represents the people’s choice.

He emphasizes that the court’s decision alone cannot bring about this consensus. Chidoka highlights the need for INEC to confidently confirm that all the necessary forms have been uploaded online for public verification and to encourage anyone who finds discrepancies to come forward.

By doing so, INEC can regain Nigerians’ trust in the legitimacy of the government.
