Opposition Parties Planning To Unite Is Good For Nigeria’s Democracy – Shehu Sani

According to Dailypost, Shehu Sani, the former Kaduna Central Senator, has said that speculation of the opposition parties planning to form a merge into a one mega party is good for Nigeria’s democratic system.

Sani noted that the opposition parties seem to have learned their lessons after defeats against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections.

Sani made the statement his official Twitter account on Monday.

He said, “Speculations that opposition parties planning to unite is good for the democracy; they are now learning geography after the earthquake.”

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) was established on February 6, 2013, from a merger of Nigeria’s three major opposition parties: the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), along with a breakaway group from the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
