Ikenga stated, “We received the alert around 4:30 a.m., and our personnel promptly arrived at the location, establishing a perimeter around the affected area.”

“We aim to prevent any instances where individuals exploit the fire incident to wrongfully appropriate properties that do not belong to them.

“We have effectively managed the situation, and we are relieved that there have been no casualties. Our personnel are currently present at the scene, along with the fire service.”

This incident occurred just days after a fire destroyed the home of Comrade Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), in Lagos.

The entire structure reportedly went up in flames following an unusual sound emanating from the roof, mistakenly assumed to be caused by animals searching for food.

In a panic to secure their safety, the occupants fled while the fire erupted into a blazing spectacle, leaving nothing salvageable in its wake.

Reports indicate that Ajaero, who was in Geneva during the incident, was not present at the time. In response to the occurrence, Ajaero expressed gratitude to God for the absence of any fatalities.

Under the leadership of Ajaero, the NLC initiated a nationwide protest in response to President Bola Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies.

Nevertheless, the strike was halted following the intervention and negotiations conducted by the Federal Government.
