Ondo PDP ignores Mimiko, backs Ayu

The Ondo State chapter of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has snubbed moves by its leader and former Governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko, to see to the removal of National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Peretei said: ” Our party is determined to end the misrule of APC, rescue and redirect our country on the path of recovery and prosperity.”

He noted that the coming of All progressive Congress (APC) since 2015 has rendered Nigeria on a free fall, adding that, Nigeria have moved from the biggest economy in Africa to world capital of poverty.

“As a nation, we are struggling for space for a ranking in failed states with Afghanistan and Syria under President Muhammad Buhari.

He emphasized that Ondo state PDP has aligned itself completely with the 97th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting resolutions and has passed a vote of confidence on party chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as the Chairman, National Working Committee (NWC) of the party

He however reiterated their support for the Patty’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, stating that he possessed the experience and capacity to lead Nigeria to a greater destination.

Meanwhile, the embattled chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu has travelled to an unnamed European country as disclosed by his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, in a statement on Tuesday, will be spending the next two weeks.
