Obi: The Current Political Confusion & Economic Challenges In Our Nation Should Not Deter Our Youth

The Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, conveyed that, the existing political uncertainty and economic difficulties in Nigeria, must not dishearten the younger generation. In a recent tweet on his verified Twitter account, he praised Nigerian youths in celebration of “World Youth Day.” On this occasion, Peter Obi reiterated his dedication to the youth of Nigeria, emphasizing that in his envisioned new Nigeria, the youth will play a significant role. He implored Nigerian youths to maintain their determination, optimism, and hope for the arrival of this new Nigeria, which will prioritize youth development and effectiveness.

Speaking his official Twitter account, he wrote, “The current political confusion and economic challenges in our nation should not discourage our youths, but instead motivate them to remain committed and resolute in the struggle for a new and better Nigeria.”

Peter Obi expressed the view that, unless the youth of Nigeria stay devoted to the pursuit of an improved nation, the desired Nigerian future will not materialize. He highlighted in multiple accounts that, Nigeria holds the unfortunate position of leading in the list of countries, with the highest unemployment rate, standing at 33.3%, and without intervention, this figure might escalate to 40.6%. He pointed out that, this represents over half of Nigeria’s working-age population. He also reassured that these circumstances will soon be put to an end.
