In light of the nation’s deplorable position, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, has repeated his decision not to celebrate his birthday. Obi claimed that he intends to keep his decision to not celebrate his birthday for the previous two decades.
Obi confirmed his 62nd birthday on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, in a statement posted on his Twitter page on Monday. Despite pressure from his followers, including members of the Obedient Family and the Labour Party, he asked them to refocus their efforts on helping people in need. Rather than giving him presents, Obi asked his supporters to donate to hospitals, orphanages, and homes for the disabled and elderly. By making such contributions, he underlined the need to assist society’s disadvantaged and underprivileged individuals.
While admitting Nigeria’s numerous issues, Obi maintained his steadfast optimism that a functional and thriving country is still within reach. The former Anambra State governor advised Nigerians not to lose hope in their dreams of a better Nigeria.
