Obi Denies 2027 Presidential Contest, Comments On Tinubu Cabinet

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi, has said he was not looking forward to running for office in 2027 or commenting on appointees of the Federal Government. He made this in a series of Twitter posts on Saturday.

“I have noticed with dismay, an emerging pattern where fake media reports and news items are predicated on interviews and press remarks I never granted.

I recently mentioned in two instances that I’m excited to run for politics in 2027 during a claimed Arise TV interview that never happened. The other concerns my response to potential Federal Government nominees,” Obi remarked.

Daily trust report that, He said that both claims are false, lamenting how low the politics of the country have descended to that it has become a business to manipulate the media.

For my part, I’ll keep discussing pressing national issues with reputable news and media outlets, he declared. But I’m not going to worry about those cheap distraction trolls. My focus and the Obidient Movement’s focus will not stray from the original goal of establishing a new Nigeria, which we believe is the right course to take.

“Putting the country on the correct footing and strengthening our democracy by assisting in the uplift and empowerment of the oppressed in our society has never been our main focus. Our electioneering campaign messages were all issue-driven because of this.
