Nyesom Wike Dares Anyone to Suspend Him From PDP.

In a bold and unprecedented move, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has thrown down the gauntlet to his own party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging them to suspend or discipline him. The minister’s audacious statement was made during an exclusive interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program.

Asserting his stance, Wike questioned the authority of anyone within the party to discipline him, contending that those who have violated the party’s constitution should be the ones facing disciplinary actions. The issue at hand revolves around the party’s support for rotational leadership.

Wike’s brazen declaration comes amidst his support for President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) while still being affiliated with the PDP. He expressed his desire to back Tinubu’s initiatives, reaffirming his commitment to the PDP.

As a key figure within the PDP and a member of the G5 group, Wike remained unapologetic for advocating for a power shift to southern Nigeria. He indicated that the forthcoming presidential panel’s findings would unveil those truly dedicated to the party’s cause.

The minister questioned the legitimacy of anyone attempting to expel him from the party, highlighting his substantial contributions to the party’s success. He underlined his state’s accomplishments in producing governors, senators, and assembly members.

Wike’s bold challenge has ignited a spirited debate within the PDP, prompting soul-searching regarding party discipline and internal dynamics. This incident raises intriguing questions about party unity and the dynamics of power in Nigerian politics.
