Gunmen kill PDP Councillor in Enugu

A Councillor of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, identified as Sylvester Ofunwa, has been allegedly murdered by unknown gunmen at his residence, Umuaroji in Eha-Alumona, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu.

Ofunwa was the Councillor of Eha-Uno, in Eha-Alumona before his death.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has disclosed that he went on self-exile in 2018 after he was rigged out of the governorship election.

Adeleke lamented that his mandate was stolen through a manipulated judicial process, a situation that led him to self-exile.

He spoke at the Adeleke University convocation in Ede, Osun State, on Sunday.

The management of London Line Transport Company Ltd has written a petition to the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, over the invasion of its premises by the Assets Recovery Committee set up by the state government.

In the petition to Governor Alia dated July 14, 2023, signed by the Chief Executive Officer of London Line Transport Ltd, Chief Emmanuel Viashima, the company stated that officials of the committee led by Barr Tom Uja, forcefully broke into their premises, took stock of vehicles and carted them away.

According to him, the recent deployment of solar mini-grids across agrarian communities nationwide is the first step towards food sufficiency.

Gov Zulum Shares Food Items To 13,000 Households In Gwoza

Borno State Governor , Babagana Umara Zulum on Sunday in Gwoza local government area supervised the distribution of food items to over 13,000 households, most of whom were affected by the Boko Haram crisis.

The distribution took place at the premises of the Palace of Emir of Gwoza, Shehu Idrissa Timta.

Zulum travelled to Gwoza on Saturday, paid a surprise visit to the general hospital at midnight, and ordered immediate interventions.
