Pick El-Rufai’s Replacement From Southern Kaduna, APC Stakeholders Urge Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to consider a Southern Kaduna resident for a ministerial position instead of former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir El-rufai by a group operating under the auspices of the Kaduna State All Progressive Congress (APC). The group includes serving and former LG Chairmen and zonal party executives.

Ibrahim Koli, the chairman of the APC in the Jema’a local government, made the request in a statement, saying, “We wish to lend our voices to the numerous calls and concerns to President Bola Tinubu to consider the Kaduna South Senatorial District, zone 3, for the Ministerial slot that the former Governor of Kaduna State Nasiru el-rufai willingly withdrew his interest to serve in that capacity.

“We wish to state categorically and unequivocally that we have competent hands, especially in the person of Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa, the current Federal Commissioner with the National Population Commission, NPC, who has a very rich resume for public affairs and is fit beyond a shadow of a doubt to serve squarely in the capacity of a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Since the party’s founding, Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa has been one of the engines that has been supporting, fostering, and propelling it not just in the zone but also in the entire state, as can be seen by the numerous calls from party supporters across all sectors.

“And if Mr. President would heed the call of numerous Kaduna state citizens to replace El-Rufai with Durunguwa, he should be at ease knowing that whatever leadership qualities he seeks from the former Governor are embedded too in the latter as he is his replica in both ability and intellectual capacity,” the statement continued.
