"Adamu Allegedly Worked Against Tinubu; Now That Tinubu Has Won, He Has No Choice" -Bernard Mikko

According to a report from the Daily Post online newspaper, Honourable Bernard Mikko, a former APC governorship aspirant in Rivers State, alleged that Abdullahi Adamu, the recently resigned national chairman of the APC, actively opposed the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate. Mikko stated that now that Tinubu has won the election, Adamu had no choice but to resign. The report quotes Mikko’s statement from an interview he gave on Arise during the Morning Show program today. He was specifically asked about the alleged crisis in the party following Adamu’s resignation.

Mikko denied the existence of a crisis within the party and accused Abdullahi Adamu of working against Tinubu both before and after the presidential primaries. Mikko claimed that Adamu had his own preferred candidate whom he favored over Tinubu.

Mikko further stated that now that Tinubu has emerged as the winner, Adamu had no option but to resign, just as he had done. Mikko added that Adamu’s resignation was long overdue and that he should have stepped down earlier.

In Mikko’s own words: “First of all, there is no crisis in the party. Secondly, his resignation should not come as a surprise. It is even belated… But he worked against the emergence of Tinubu. Even when Tinubu became the preferred candidate, he still worked against his candidacy. Now that our President has won, he has no choice.”
