Nyesom Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has recently expressed his belief that Nigerians would have voted for the flag bearer of the Labour Party, Peter Gregory Obi, if he was a better presidential candidate than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who ended up emerging as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
According to a statement that was captured by Channels Television on their official website, when the now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was asked whether Mr. Obi would have handled economic matters more than Tinubu, he said, ” “I don’t discuss presidential candidates any longer; I discuss the economy, the President, and what he has to offer.
“If he (Obi) would have been better, Nigerians would have voted for him”, he concluded.
Obi and his party are still awaiting the judgment of the court after they filed a case against the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission to announce Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential poll that was conducted on the 25th of February.
