Nigerians Will Soon Beg To Remain In Poverty – Sani Mocks FG On Lifting 133m People Out Of Poverty

Senator Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central lawmaker and a Socio-political Commentator, has said that Nigerians will soon beg the Federal Government to leave them in poverty. Sani remarked that the poverty they are familiar with is preferable to the unexpected.

He was in response to the Federal Government’s pledge to raise Nigerians out of poverty. Betta Edu, the Federal Government’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alletion, promised that the Federal Government would raise 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.

Edu stated that the achievement will be accomplished with the support of President Bola Tinubu, as well as many interventions and activities aimed at reducing poverty. “What is most important,” Edu says, “is that we will continue to focus on lifting 133 million Nigerians out of poverty.” In response, the former Kaduna Central Senator criticised previous governments for making similar pledges.

Shehu Sani tweeted his verified Twitter handle: he wrote, “The Past Government promised to lift the people out of poverty. The Present Government is promising to lift the people out of poverty. “We are reaching a point where the people will beg the Government to please leave them in Poverty. “The poverty you know is better than the one you don’t know.”
