Nigerians react to 23-year old video of Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ slogan
An old video of President Bola Tinubu addressing Lagos residents of renewed hope in the year 2000, has popped up.
In the video, he noted that in the spirit of renewed hope, he promises to respond to their needs as the government understands the plights of the people.
“In the spirit of a new dawn of renewed hope, our government understand your problem, we share your plight and identify your aspirations. We promise you that we shall respond positively to all your needs,” Tinubu said 23 years ago…………………………….CONTINUE READING
Tinubu served as governor of Lagos state from 1999 to 2007. During his tenure, a video of him addressing Lagosians in year 2000, showed how he tried to promote ‘renewed hope’ to the residents.
However, in 2023 he adopted the slogan, “Renewed Hope” for his presidential campaign.
Although he won the presidential election, the “Renewed Hope” slogan he resurrected after 23 years has attracted several criticism as Nigerians took to social media to share their thoughts.
Many claim the hope Tinubu has been trying to renew for 23 years is still being renewed.
