If I were to be Ekweremmadu’s son I would not have staged this elaborate wedding- Joe Igbokwe

According to a news that was published by The Nation paper online this morning, it was reported that Joe Igbokwe, who is a leader in the APC, has criticized Lloyd Ekweremadu, the son of the former deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu. Joe was upset that Lloyd had a lavish wedding even though his parents are in jail in the UK. Lloyd married Tiffany Adaobi Obinna-Uzor in Abuja.

Some big names from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Anyim Pius Anyim, David Mark, Bukola Saraki, and Senator Dino Melaye, stood in for Lloyd’s parents at the wedding. Lloyd’s father, Ekweremadu, who is a leader in the PDP, was found guilty of organ trafficking and is currently in a UK prison along with his wife Beatrice. Ekweremadu got a sentence of nine years and eight months, while Beatrice got four years and six months. A doctor named Obinna Obeta, who was involved, got ten years.

Because of this situation, Joe Igbokwe thinks Lloyd should have chosen a more private wedding. He’s worried about how bold young people are these days.

He said, “If I were to be Ekweremmadu’s son I would not have staged this elaborate wedding ceremony with my father and mother in prison. I would have done a low-key marriage ceremony and wait till my parents are free. This generation scares me stiff.”
