Nigerian fans react to the absence of 2 Nigerian-born stars from England World Cup list

The 2022 World Cup will start soon as one of the most juicy part of the event is knowing the players who will play in the prestigious tournament. Southgate just released England’s list of players going to Qatar, and some fans are not happy with the list.

Abraham and Tomori, born to Nigerian parents in England, recently spoke about their Nigerian root. The two Chelsea graduates currently play in Italy for Roma and AC Milan, they are part of the people who fans felt should be on Gareth Southgate’s list.

Abraham hasn’t really found the back of the net this season for Roma like he did last season, that may be one of the reasons he was left out. On the other hand, Tomori has been excellent as usual for Milan, and getting game time, as much as 95% of all Milan’s games this season and this is why fans question the omission.

These two players had the option of representing Nigeria, but they chose England, and many Nigerian fans felt they should have picked Nigeria in the first place to secure an exceptional international future.

Do you think they would have enjoyed more success in international football if they picked Nigeria? Furthermore, do you think they would have increased Nigeria’s chance of making the world cup?
