Nigeria Vs Algeria: Troost-Ekong Leaves Super Eagles Camp, Return To England Due To Injury

Super Eagles of Nigeria assistant Captain and Watford defender William Troost-Ekong has left the Super Eagles Camp in Constantine and has returned to England due to injury he sustained in the test game against Algeria Team B on Friday, a game where the Super Eagles played a 2-2 draw. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also confirmed the report on their social media handle in a tweet which reads as follows; “William Troost-Ekong has left camp as a result of an injury cropped during the test game yesterday. He is back to base for further checks. Wishing you a speedy recovery Ekong.”

Ekong has now returned to England for further checks.

Recall, Nigeria has also lost Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to injury few days ago ahead of the upcoming friendly and has also returned to England. Injury also prevented Nigeria’s captain Ahmed Musa from honouring the upcoming game in Oran.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will now be without William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi and Ahmed Musa when they face Algeria on Tuesday in Oran.
