Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa (Esq.), the newly appointed Minister of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, has officially assumed her role as the first female Minister to hold this portfolio. She was warmly received by the Permanent Secretary, Directors, Senior Officers, and Ministry staff, who greeted her with loud applause.

As captured in NTA , in her introductory speech, the Minister expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and extended special appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for entrusting her with this important role. She vowed to put forth her best efforts towards rebranding Nigeria’s image.

The Minister emphasized that Nigeria cannot continue to be associated with negative aspects such as poverty, fraud, terrorism, and other criminal activities. She stressed that the nation’s image needs a positive transformation beyond its borders and highlighted the need for the collective support of all well-meaning Nigerians to achieve this.

One of her immediate plans is to introduce a National Theme Song for the Nigerian brand. She added that the Nigerian Creative Industry has reached a level of maturity and it’s time to elevate it to a new level for increased economic value. The public can expect innovative and inspiring concepts that will drive and support this sector in the upcoming weeks.

The Minister assured that all necessary plans and mechanisms for these initiatives will be promptly activated. She also pledged to engage relevant stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to ensure the successful execution of these projects.
