Niger coup: Tinubu receives Central Africa’s support, solidarity

The solidarity shown by the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) over the crisis going on in the Niger Republic has been praised by President Bola Tinubu.

Ajuri Ngelale, his special adviser on media and publicity, released this statement in Abuja. According to the Daily Post, Tinubu’s speech was made known to the public when he was welcoming the Special Envoy of Hermann Immongault, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Gabon, and President Ali Bongo Ondimba.

They visited him at the state house in Abuja on Tuesday and showed their support and solidarity with the actions for resolution that were taken by ECOWAS to restore constitutional order in Niger.

He said, My appreciation goes to President Bongo, as he’s supporting and showing solidarity with our efforts not to worsen the situation in Niger. Some good people have shown their concern.

We understand how people are afraid of any kind of military intervention, but we are working tirelessly to keep the sanctions in place and to ensure that everything works as planned.

“I’m happy that ECCAS is standing with ECOWAS on this case because the interference in the democratic system of governance is against the laws of ECOWAS”, he said.
