Niger Coup: President Tinubu's Responsibility Is To Us, Not To ECOWAS, Not Even To Niger- Odidika

A Public Affairs Analysis, Mr Kenneth Odidika, has made it known that the primary responsibility of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is to us Nigerians and not to ECOWAS or Niger Republic or to any other interest, noting that the way President Tinubu is going about the Niger Republic issue, it looks like the issue is between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

Speaking further, Mr Odidika made it known that it is after the President had put into consideration all that concerns us Nigerians, he will now determine whether the step he wants to take is a wise step or not.

He made this disclosure when he was being interviewed on Arise Television, as he was reacting to the sanctions imposed on Niger Republic by the Nigerian government under President Tinubu’s leadership.

He said: “The President’s primary responsibility is to us, not to ECOWAS, not to any other interest not even to Niger, it’s to us first. It’s after he had put into consideration and checked all that concerns us, he will now determine whether the steps he has taken are wise.”

Furthermore, he made it known that whether we like it or not, the fact still remains that there is currently a Government in Niger Republic and how the Government came about and whether we like the Government or not are two different things entirely.

In addition, he made it known that we don’t have to be unduly antagonistic, noting that the ECOWAS must first if all find out what actually happened and then look for a way to address the issue, instead of imposing sanctions on Niger Republic.
