We must kick them out, occupy their southern territories and take their capital–Fani-Kayode to Niger

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Director of New Media sub-committee of the defunct All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, responded to Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s letter to the national assembly, seeking approval for military action and other sanctions against the military junta in Niger. In his reaction, Fani-Kayode called for strong measures against Niger Republic, urging to remove them, occupy their Southern territories, capture their capital Niamey, and overthrow their military government to reinstate democracy.

He also noted on the need use force to deter any further aggression, likening Niger Republic to a puppy that needs to be taught a lesson after challenging a lion. Fani-Kayode suggested seeking support from Executive Outcomes, Blackwater, and other western mercenary armies if Wagner, a Russian private military company, sides with Niger Republic. Following his post, Femi Fani-Kayode received a barrage of responses from his fans and followers on social media, with many expressing their views on his stance.

In his words, “We must kick them (Niger Republic) out, occupy their Southern territories, take their capital Niamey, topple their military Government and re-establish democracy.”

The former Minister of Ation’s comments have sparked significant debate and discussion, revealing the sensitivity of the situation between Nigeria and Niger Republic, and the potential implications of advocating for military intervention. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the Nigerian government, the national assembly, and the international community will respond to President Tinubu’s call for military action and whether Fani-Kayode’s views will gain traction or remain a subject of contention.
