Muhammadu Buhari Threw Emefiele Under The Bus – Prof. Jideofor Adibe

A Professor of International Relations and Political Science, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Jideofor Adibe, has revealed how former President Muhammadu Buhari threw the embattled Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, under the bus; as he maintained that the former President could not be found when the heat was much on the embattled CBN Chief over the redesign of Naira notes.

Professor Jideofor Adibe had said, “It seems that if there is too much criticism of any policy, Buhari will just throw you under the bus; and we saw it in the way he related with the Naira redesign. Even though he came out on Public Television and owned ownership, when the heat was very much on Emefiele, nobody saw him. That should never have happened.”

Professor Adibe, who spoke during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, suggested, even though he did not make a direct statement, that Buhari threw Emefiele under the bus. He said even though Buhari had earlier claimed that he agreed that Naira should be redesigned, he was no where to be found when the heat was very much on Emefiele.

Adibe urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to follow in Buhari’s steps, but to give the newly inaugurated Ministers support to implement policies. He recounted how former President Olusegun Obasanjo supported Ministers under his administration, as he maintained that El-Rufai wouldn’t have been able to demolish structures like he did if the President did not consent to it.
