A former Director General of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Dr Doyin Okupe has called on the Nigerian Senate to reconsider their decision to drop former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai from the ministerial list.
It should be recalled that El-rufai was one among three nominees that the Senate dropped from their approved list.
But taking to his Twitter handle, Okupe said he is not a fan of El-rufai who has in recent past demonstrated traits of religious extremism, but very few people will doubt the former Kaduna State Governor’s immense capacity to perform as a minister.
He said if it’s true that El-rufai is being considered to head the power ministry before he was dropped, then the Senate may insist on an undertaking from him from making comments on religion before confirming him.
He added that if there is anyone that can fix Nigeria’s energy problems, then the former Kaduna State Governor is one of them.
