Amaka Ekwo, a former Press Secretary of separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday said “the elected leaders” – not the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) – are to blame for the chaos ongoing in Nigeria’s southeast region, Newsbreak reports.

For a Twitter user, Onye Nkuzi, “IPOB had devolved into criminality”, and the pro-Biafra group will do itself a lot of if it drops violent separatist agitation.

Responding to that allegation, diaspora-based Ekwo disagreed, saying the terror being witnessed in the southeast, is because elected leaders in the southeast did not negotiate with Kanu. According to her, “it is time to start talking”.
