Accept Tribunal Verdict, Akpabio Counsels Atiku, Obi

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged the opposition to accept the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), which on Wednesday affirmed the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

The five-member panel of justices presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani dismissed the petitions of Atiku Abubakar (Peoples Democratic Party), Peter Obi (Labour Party) and Chichi Ojei (Allied Peoples Movement) and declared that Tinubu was duly elected.

In a statement issued by his media office, Akpabio characterised the court decision as a confirmation of the popular mandate given by the Nigerian people for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket at the February election.

He pointed out that the court thoroughly considered every question brought up by the petitioners and rendered an unequivocal decision about the validity of Nigeria’s electoral process.

The Senate President stated that despite the difficulties, it is obvious to objective observers that Nigeria’s election process is moving forward steadily and merits the praise and support of all Nigerians and supporters of Nigeria. According to Daily trust.

In order to help the Tinubu administration implement the Renewed Hope Agenda of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Akpabio asked Atiku, Obi, and all Nigerians.

“I commend the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s decision upholding the election of our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and our Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 presidential election.

“I also want to congratulate our wonderful All Progressives Congress (APC) party for being affirmed by this thoughtful landmark ruling.

“The popular mandate of the Nigerian people for our party, the APC, and its Vice Presidential and Presidential candidates, freely provided at the February 2023 elections, has been unequivocally upheld by this verdict.

As the Court painstakingly addressed every issue brought by the petitioners, Akpabio urged everyone involved to accept the ruling and work with the Tinubu administration in its daring attempts to ensure the welfare of our people. According to Daily trust.
