The idea that love is all needed in a marriage has been knocked down by Ijeoma Thomas, the Nollywood actress, who said that love alone cannot make a marriage work.
According to the Nigerian actress, who was seen in a movie role proposing marriage to Yul Edochie, said that love is not the only foundation for happy marriage, that there are other components that makeup the family unit.
She said, “There are so many separations and divorces due to the fact love can’t save the marriage, and doesn’t make marriage work. All those couples who have separated or divorced were once in love with their partners.
In fact, many couples that are divorced still love each other, but they can’t stay together as couples due to the fact that the other factors are not working. They had been both blinded by love of the flesh. What we describe as love and affection today is self-centeredness.”
