El-Rufai's Confirmation: I Am Too Sure This Matter Will Sit Before The President" -Hon. Daramola

Former Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Bimbo Daramola, has indicated that the previous Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, may soon be added to the list of confirmed Ministers. Daramola suggested that the omission of El-Rufai’s name from the list might be resolved after discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Daramola stated, “I am confident that this matter will be discussed with the President and also with the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio. If negotiation is possible, it will be pursued.”

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television program, the former legislator indicated that El-Rufai might soon receive confirmation as a Minister. Daramola suggested that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu likely understands the reason for the delay in confirming El-Rufai. He recounted an instance during El-Rufai’s screening where a Senator mentioned a security-related petition against him, which could be the cause for his omission. Daramola asserted that the omission wasn’t due to incompetence.

Daramola also proposed that the same scenario might apply to the two other nominees left out. He also commented on the questioning of Festus Keyamo, another ministerial nominee. According to Daramola, Keyamo’s past rudeness toward the National Assembly resulted in some Senators rejecting his nomination.
