Lagos probes hospital staff for filming Rico Swavey’s last moments

Rico was placed on oxygen while unconscious on a chair in the clip recorded by one of the nurses attending to the now-deceased reality star.
The nurses could be seen arguing about the next step to take, with one warning her colleague not to film Rico Swavey.
“You people should stop making the Update; somebody is dying, you people are making Update,” the nurse said.
The Update sparked outrage on social media, with people demanding an investigation. Some share similar experiences of negligence in Nigerian hospitals.
Reacting to the Update in a statement on Thursday, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso said the state government had commenced an investigation on those who also appeared in the Update.
“That hospital is not a government hospital; we have started an investigation into the unprofessional conducts of those who appeared in that Update,” Omotoso said.
Rico died on Thursday, October 13 after a ghastly car accident.
