I'm Working For Tinubu, Not APC – Wike

Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, reiterated on Wednesday that he works for President Bola Tinubu, not the All Progressives Congress. “I am not employed by APC.” “I am working for Tinubu, who has put his trust in me to help him deliver renewed hope,” Wike stated on Channels TV Politics Today. “I owe nobody an apology,” he added. I was in the PDP and worked for Ahmed Bola Tinubu to become Nigeria’s President.”

According to the PUNCH, Wike’s purported APC membership sparked controversy after his name appeared on the ruling party’s campaign council for the governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states on November 11. This came after the party denied publishing the disputed documents featuring notable names of chairman, co-chairmen, and members of campaign councils for the governorship elections, which went viral in the media and online platforms on Tuesday night.

The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, offered the rejoinder in a statement issued in Abuja. The statement reads: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to National Campaign Council Lists for November 11 2023 Governorship Elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo States, which have been circulated in sections of the media. “The lists are not official Party documents and should be disregarded,” the APC reply stated.
