Coup: Our Countrymen Please Stop Advocating, Soliciting Or Inciting For A Coup In Nigeria- Shehu Sani

The former senator that represented the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Shehu Sani, has urged Nigerians to stop advocating, soliciting or inciting for a coup d’etat in the country, stating it clearly that our democracy can still be redeemed or refined in the country.

Speaking further, Shehu Sani made it known that the struggle for a just, equitable and more prosperous society can still be won within the context of democracy.

Senator Shehu Sani made this disclosure in a tweet he made on his verified twitter handle on Monday morning, while reacting to the call of some Nigerians for military to take over the Nigerian government, due to the hardship and high level of insecurity in the country.

Senator Shehu Sani wrote: “Our democracy can still be redeemed or refined. The struggle for a just, equitable and prosperous society can still be won within the context of democracy. Our countrymen, pls stop advocating, soliciting, or inciting for a coup in Nigeria.”

Shortly after the military took over the Government of Niger Republic, some Nigerians have been calling on the Nigerian military to replicate what happened in Niger Republic in Nigeria, on the basis that democracy has caused a lot of pain and sufferings to them.

Just a few days ago, the Nigerian Military came out and made it clear that they don’t have any interest in taking over the country’s democracy, stating it clearly that Nigeria is better under civil rule, than under Military dictatorship. Be it as it may, Nigerians are waiting to see how it will end.
