Kidnapper Explains Why He Enjoys Kidnapping Married Women After Been Arrested

According to Sun News, Osinachi Ngerem, a 41- year- old alleged kidnapper who was recently caught by the Imo State Authorities Command’ s Anti- Kidnapping Squad, has been telling the police why he enjoys abducting married ladies and collecting enormous sums as ransom from their families.

Ngerem was apprehended alongside Ugona Franklin, another suspect.

Mrs Ngozi Njoku, Mrs Ifeanyi Obi, and Mrs Mary Christiana are among their victims. The women were abducted in the Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, near Ezlama Ahazu. Before releasing the women, the duo collected N10 million in ransom from their families.

The notorious kidnappers were part of a five- man gang that had a tendency for stealing married ladies, according to Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hussanni Rabiu. What is the explanation for this? Collecting big money in the millions of naira as ransom from their husbands was always a simple task.

The accused, according to the police chief, were involved in a number of kidnappings in states such as Imo, Anambra, and Enugu.

According to CP Rabiu, a five- man gang kidnapped Mrs Ifeanyi Obi in Awka, Anambra State, in November 2020.

” She was kidnapped and carried to their Ngor Okpala hideout. The victim’ s husband was summoned, and they demanded N20 million in ransom. They reached an agreement, and he paid N2 million. They detained the victim for three days before releasing her.

” The same gang kidnapped Mrs Mary Christiana along Miles 2 in Enugu in January 2021. She was then brought to their hideout, where a ransom of N5 million was demanded. The woman’ s relatives petitioned for her release, but it was in vain. After five days in their captivity, they had to pay N1 million to get her released.

” Meanwhile, the same gang kidnapped one Mrs Mary Christiana in Onitsha, Anambra State, in March 2021. She was kidnapped in her own home. They hauled her into their car. They demanded that the woman phone her husband and beg him to give money to them. They sought a ransom of N10 million. The victim’ s relatives then sent N500, 000 to the kidnappers by P. O. S. , and the victim was released. “

He said one of the kidnappers, Tochukwu Amadi, was apprehended with bullet wounds in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, adding that the group also recovered a pump action rifle with live cartridges, a cutlass, charms, a face mask, and other stuff. Other members, according to the police chief, fled with bullet wounds.
